Presenters: Chris Roush, associate business journalism professor at the University of North Carolina, SABEW board member, and the man behind the influential "Talking Biz News" blog; Curt Hazlett, former business editor at The Chicago Sun Times and past financial copy desk chief of The Washington Post, as well as former managing editor of The Portland Press Herald in Maine. Each year, the Society of Professional Journalists presents the Mark of ExcellenceAwards honoring the best in student journalism. The awards offer 39 categoriesfor print, radio, television, and online collegiate journalism. First place regionalwinners are forwarded on to the national competition. National winners will behonored at the 2008 SPJ Convention & National Journalism Conference in Atlanta.Please join us in honoring the best regional achievements by emerging journalistsin 2007 and raising money for SPJ's Legal Defense Fund through a silent auction.
