BUILDING A BETTER JOURNALIST: The Oregon and Southwest Washington Chapter of SPJ - in partnership with the University of Oregon's School of
Journalism and Communication, its student SPJ chapter and the Oregonian - will host a two-day training in Eugene Oct. 6-7, offering a variety of training sessions and panel discussions for students and working professionals. Sessions include interviewing skills, investigations on a shoe-string budget, column writing and hands-on training for computer-assisted reporting. Attendees may choose one of two to three offerings per session.
